Thursday, October 6
Welcome/User Group Overview
08:30 - 08:45
SAFTE-FAST 6 software release
08:45 - 09:15
An overview of features and enhancements included in the upcoming SAFTE-FAST 6 release.
-
Presented by: Murray McGrath, IBR
09:15 - 09:45
Implementation of cabin crew enhancements
Inflight will present an overview of recent flight attendant fatigue program enhancements. This overview will also include the current and projected incorporation of the use of data in identifying trends and potential risks. The incorporation of data will focus on how Inflight looks to utilize SAFTE-FAST to a greater extent in order to more proactively identify and resolve any potential fatigue causations associated with pairing or line construction.

Presented by: Sandra Ingram, United Airlines
“But I didn't feel fatigued”; utilizing SAFTE-FAST to quantify fatigue risk beyond subjective alertness
09:45- 10:15
As part of many post-event investigations and data gathering projects, crew will often report a high score in subjective alertness scales at critical times of a flight (or other safety-critical activity). However, as it is well-understood that we all tend to chronically underestimate our own levels of fatigue, utilizing SAFTE-FAST analysis of actual sleep/wake history to provide a more objective point of comparison has provided a lot of benefit for the JetBlue fatigue team, to demonstrate where elevated fatigue risk can exist.

Modeling Compound Fatigue Risk in Medium Haul Pilots
13:30 - 14:00
Fatigue related to predictable workload factors were identified from a survey of medium-haul pilots. SAFTE-FAST workload settings were modified to reflect the amount of fatigue associated with each workload factor, and a use case was developed to compare schedules identified as having high compound risk by Insights against fatigue reports from those rosters.

Afternoon Break
FRMS application during COVID and next steps
14:45- 15:15
During the early stages of the pandemic, Brazil had to source from China health and safety material, posing a tough logistical challenge due to border health restrictions. During this presentation, we will talk about how we tackled these challenges as well as how COVID changed our approach to FRMS.
-
Presented by: Capt. Caio Rosante Garcia, Azul
