This presentation provides an overview of the various projects being conducted on Qantas pilots. The aim is to collect high-quality data to continuously monitor and manage fatigue-related risks. The projects range from state-of-the-art research studies to sleepiness questionnaires incorporated into the pilot workload. The methodology, initial findings, and implications of this data are discussed.

Sleep Behavior Fleet Air Arm (Navy) Shift Workers

Royal Australian Navy

This presentation focuses on how the Royal Australian Navy used IBR's SleepTank app and the Fitbit Versa 2 wearable to help workers manage their own sleep schedules in a way that reduces fatigue risk during rotational shift work. Fatigue risk was assessed using SAFTE-FAST to evaluate instances during work and commute times when cognitive impairment was comparable to that of alcohol consumption.
